'Do you medicate or meditate?' is a question I ask clients to get them to relax about the idea of adding meditation to their lives. Meditation is anything- sitting, walking, gardening or dancing- that clears your mind and allows you to focus on a single thing or idea for an extended period of time.
The way I meditate- I recently found out- is called Lectio Divina: I read a text on meditation, spirituality or mental health, I meditate on it, contemplate on it and practice it on my daily interactions with others.
Last week I took a meditation class at MNDFL Studio located on 10 East 8th Street, New York. The space is exactly what I was hoping for- simple, clean, spacious and filled with positive and peaceful energy. I was guided through a 30 minute meditation that helped 20+ students connect with our inner selves. The MNDFL Studio also offers drop-in meditations for $5, which is perfect for people with a hectic schedule. I highly recommend checking this zen space out. www.mndflmeditation.com
